"We greatly applaud your efforts to not only save Cedar Hill Pet Cemetery but to improve it beyond its original appearance by establishing the War Dog Monument campaign, "Enduring Valor." It is the community that makes us strong and your community has gone far above the call of duty to honor our beloved pets and demonstrate their thanks for the working dogs who faithfully serve our communities and nation. Wishing you much success in your efforts to make Cedar Hill a better place."

The cross represents the hilt of a sword.
It runs into the pedestal,
where the dog represents the blade of the sword,
which the police and military handlers wield in our defense.
Susan Bahary sculptured our beautiful monument.
